The final track of The Assassination builds around a poem by Emily Dickinson narrated by voice actor Nikolle Doolin. Emily Dickinson was an American poet from the 19th Century, known for her often short and slightly morbid poems which in her time were regarded eccentric.

Surgeons is only a few lines long and of a beautiful simplicity. I felt that this poem would get a new meaning in the context of this EP. I kept the music as simple and direct possible, with a starring role for a Buddhist priest who got lost in our Swedish backyard. Come on over and say hello to him, if you don’t believe me.

Underneath their fine incisions
